As a M.D. with a research and teaching background it is easy for me to read the published studies but no article like this should ignore quoting the medical literature. The argument of dying vs. starving is disgusting. Lymphoma is one of those diseases that I dread acquiring. The Washington Post? It has joined the New York Times as worthless drivel.
That's not very helpful as a comment unless venting makes you feel better. Every agricultural chemical has a toxic profile, and much more care could be taken here to protect people. The study you reference was done by a paid expert who has represented class suits and is not in any way conclusive. I do not claim to be a medical or scientific expert but I know how to read studies and compare the meta data. There may future confirmation of the cancer-causing nature of glyphosate but as of now, there is a wealth of contradictory data. In addition, the issue - just as with artificial sweeteners - is not whether it can cause cancer in lab conditions but at what rates and dosages.
"The dose makes the poison" is the most fundamental rule of toxicology, yet people forget it all the time. Then there's the overall body of evidence, cost-benefit analysis and the law of unintended consequences, all of which needs to be taken into account before reaching a conclusion. But for some reason, glyphosate, similar to GMOs, generates an inordinately strong emotional response among many people.
Can you send a link to research connecting glyphosate to lymphoma? Did this research come up during the court case? Yes, lymphoma is a dread disease, but starvation is also a pretty terrible way to die, so this is a difficult dilemma.

But our “demand” for ethanol is purely because of government mandate.
If we want to better feed the world’s hungry, we should eliminate that mandate, not add it on to a more than sufficient list of reasons to applaud the SCOTUS decision.
