i think you’re right that it’s a bit too easy to draw a straight line from “we’re so polarized” to this shooting. certainly, though, it reflects a genuine crisis of lonely, disillusioned young men who feel they’ve been abandoned, and—this one is unique to the this country—the shockingly easy access said young men have to weapons of war.
